As part of its ‘Explore’ programme, Elbow Beach Capital has backed bioelectronics startup, QV Bioelectronics in Pre-Series A round led by Science Angel Syndicate and Fink Family Office.
Based in Manchester, QV Bioelectronics has created an innovative surgically implanted Electric Field Therapy (EFT) device for the treatment of brain tumours. QVB’s implant, GRACE, uses cutting-edge technology, combining advanced materials, precision oncology and surgical innovations, to target dividing cancer cells within the brain without affecting healthy cells.
QVB will use the proceeds of this funding round to support expanded pre-clinical studies to assess the safety and efficacy of GRACE, as well as a range of other activities to ensure commercial and regulatory success. Once completed, QVB hopes that GRACE will enhance the standard of care that cancer patients receive.
Dr. Johnathan Matlock of Science Angel Syndicate commented:
“We are delighted to have led this investment round alongside the Fink Family Office with the support of Northern Gritstone and Elbow Beach Capital. With this funding round we are helping Chris and Richard move one step closer to the clinic and have set them up to achieve important pre-clinical milestones ahead of a Series A round. We are excited to support Chris, Richard and the wider QV team during the next phase of their development.”
